From the beginning of Calema Windsurfing, the emphasis was on Instruction and Quality Equipment. We enjoy introducing others to lifelong sports that are environmentally friendly – no “smokers” – only wind or paddle propulsion. Over the years, Calema has expanded from a Windsurfing only shop to Sailing, Kayaking, and Stand-up Paddling. Owner, Tinho, employed his engineering roots to fill needs by shaping sails, fins, and boards and inventing an array of instructional tools that are employed worldwide today. When windsurfing was primarily geared towards adults, Tinho created lightweight gear and scaled-down sails so his children, John and Michael, could windsurf. He later shaped wide boards for instruction long before they were ever mass-produced by Europe’s board manufacturers. Today, Tinho continues fueling his passion for the ocean by shaping and testing his designs for windsurfing and stand-up paddle surfing. Come begin a lifetime adventure with Calema!
