Who doesn’t love a solid burrito? Moreover, who doesn’t love a solid burrito after surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, or beaching? With so many spots claiming to be the home of the best burrito, we decided to pit them all against each other in the 2020 Space Coast A1A Battle of the Burritos!
To keep the field fair, we’re playing by these rules:
- Each burrito ordered must be as similar as possible. We are going with rice, beans, veggies, no cheese, and red meat. Obviously some variations will occur but this is the base we’re shooting for.
- There must be one week between burrito’s eaten. This way the palate stays fresh and fair to each contender with a review of the contender posted weekly.
- Burrito’s must be eaten with only water to drink. Again, to keep the palate fresh and fair.
- All burrito contenders must be on the Space Coast barrier island along the A1A.

Week 3: Big Island Burritos - Indialantic
Week 4: Fiesta Jalisco - Indian Harbour Beach
Week 5: Little Dos Mexican Cantina - Satellite Beach
Week 6 Dakine Diego’s Insane Burritos - Satellite Beach
Week 7: Taco City - Cocoa Beach
Week 8: Sergios Tacos - Cocoa Beach
Week 9: Epic Burrito Co - Cocoa Beach
Week 10: Rock the Guac - Cocoa Beach
Week 11: Mexico’s Grill - Cocoa Beach
Week 12: Salsas - Cocoa Beach
Week 13: The Shark - Cape Canaveral
Burritos will be judged on the following categories:
1. Presentation: How appetizing does it look when it comes out.
2. Flavor Balance: Are the flavors complex and varied throughout the burrito or is it overpowered by one flavor.
3. Authenticity: No explanation needed for this one.
4. The Wrap: The wrap is the messy factor. Is it wrapped tight and well or does it fall apart and make it difficult to eat.
5. Overall: How mind-blowing was it? This will be scored on a 0-10 with 0 being a total gringo burrito and 10 being “I'm skipping next week's contender and coming back here”.
